Drive-in racking is a space-saving, accumulative storage method that maximize both vertical and horizontal storage capacity. It's perfect for storing huge volumes of single-SKU pallets and a limited number of product kinds.
Advantages
Two alternative loading techniques are: The first is drive-in pallet racking, which has only one access aisle and the first pallet in is the final pallet out. Drive-In systems are the most typical way to manage compact storage loads. Pallets are loaded from back to front, creating a Last In-First Out system.
Second, drive-through racking, which allows items to be accessed from both sides of the rack, ensuring that the first pallet in is the first pallet out (FIFO).
With the load raised slightly above the level on which it is to be deposited, forklifts enter the system and deposit pallets on support rails. This action is repeated at various levels
This system is frequently used in cold stores (e.g. refrigerated and frozen goods)which require maximum use of space for the storage of products in a controlled temperature.
